Congratulations to all the Premiership teams, and special mention to the Windsor Guards for winning the Elite 'A' grade competition for the first time in a while. They have been the perennial bridesmaids to Salisbury on a number of occasions, but finally got revenge.
Another special mention to the Modbury Chiefs, as they won both the junior grade premierships. There could be quite a big future for the Chiefs !!

The following Superleague Games are the designated Quit Challenge Games which will decide which teams play in the finals which will be held on 10 July 1999.
The Grades involved are Men's A, Women's A, Under 18 and Under 15.

Superleague is an inter-club competition run in South Australia comprising 7 Metropolitan Indoor Sports Centres. The season runs from April to September each year. The sports played are Cricket, Netball and 8-Ball. The season consists of a "Round Robin" series of games with each team playing each other twice during the minor round.
Currently the games are played on Saturday's with the first games starting at 1pm, and finishing with the 'A' Grade Mens at 6pm. This is done on a home and away basis. There is currently a proposal to move Superleague to Sundays so that people who work on Saturday's (which is becoming more and more of an issue) can still play the game they love.
At the end of the minor round, the top 5 teams progress to the Major round, and compete as per the following:
This standard format has proved quite successful in the past, with the two best sides during the season generally playing off in the Grand Final.
1999 Format
Next season Superleague games will be reduced to 6 ball overs in order to reduce the length of the games, and also in an attempt to bring the scores down and make games more competitive. Our Grand Final this year had scores of 180 to 140, this is obviously too high, as the spectators like to see the spectacular fielding as opposed to disciplined safe batting.
There was an original proposal to move the games to Sundays like it used to be, but this was knocked back due to a previous lack of interest on Sundays and also the clash with the Adelaide Crows home games.
