State Teams Function and Hall of Fame

In October the inaugural Indoor Cricket SA Hall of Fame and State Teams Function was held at the Alma Tavern. The afternoon was a great hit with both current and past State players attending, plus many partners and a few kids to make it a great family event.

Please Click here to see the Hall of Fame inductees, and also awards given to the Players of the Series for each State Team category for 2006.

During the function a few players took the opportunity to announce their retirement from State cricket and in some cases Superleague as well, these include Belinda Noack and Ian "Jammo" Waters. Congratulations to these players who have represented South Australia so well over the years, and it was great that this event gave them the forum to thank those who have been involved with them through their State careers.

During 2006 SA teams competed at the various National Championships. The following are brief highlights:

Belinda Noack was awarded the Monika Brogan Medal for 2005, which is the Best Player Award for the year taking into account all State and National Team competitions. A great reward for "Billy" and all her hard work and endeavour to make SA competitive at the Womens Open level.

Michael Ledgard and Craig Dollman named in the Australian Junior Team based on their performances at the Under 18s Nationals.

Gary Bartlett named in the Over 35s Australian Team.

Belinda Noack and Neisha Iles named in the Womens Extreme Team.

Jessie Oldfield named as an Talent ID Player for the Womens Extreme Team.

Lindsay Drowley named in the Lord's Taverners All Star Team.
